Add a WordPress Blog for Search Engine Optimization

I run into clients all the time who just don’t have the right set up to get good blog optimization.  Many times the site has been around for years and it’s a great site…but not a great site for search engine notice.

You see, one of the best ways to get a search engine to find you is to have your keyword phrase in the URL.  Years ago, no one knew this so no one did it.  So, for example, if you want to optimize for the keyword phrase “casino night event”, then your url should be something like:  www.cherylpierce.com/casinonightevent.html.

But most sites aren’t set up to optimize for every single phrase.  And that’s where the wordpress blog comes in.  A wp blog is simple to set up and easy to use. Most servers have simple tools to upload a blog.  You just add your blog to a subdirectory folder.  So, your blog would look like this:  www.cherylpierce.com/blog/.

You can do this for free just with some trial and error and following the info on wordpress.org   If you want a little more in depth info or you prefer to learn from videos, there is a good tutorial here:  The Word Press Junkie

You can’t go wrong though with a blog.  Not only can you use it for optimization but you can set it up to post on your Facebook Page too.

If you’re not sure where to go next in terms of marketing…check it out!  You won’t be sorry.
